Loire Valley Trade Tasting - Seattle Sept. 13th

The 65 Loire Valley wine appellations are located in a 300 hundred mile stretch along the Loire river which is the longest river in France.

The varieties of grapes from this region include Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet, Melon de Bourgogne, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Gamay, Romortantin and Grolleau.

The Sancerre wines were showing beautifully. Taste of show goes to Terrison/Grape Expectations Cave des Vignerons de Saumur Lieu-Dit Rosnay Vouvray 2009. This wine was clean and bright with just the right amount of sweetness and acid. At less than $20 a bottle retail, the price point was attractive as well.

If your in the mood for a great Sauvignon Blanc, this 2009 Lion's Oak Wine is it. These Red Mountain grapes provide just a hint of oak and not a grassy flavor on the palate. Wine maker Brad Sherman. Call me for details on where to purchase this incredible wine.
